Principal's Message

As we reach the conclusion of Term 2, I want to thank the students, staff, and families for your ongoing support and dedication to our school and its core values. Despite some challenges, this term has been marked by high achievement, perseverance and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Student Achievement & Opportunities

Throughout Term 2, our students have continued to embrace learning and leadership opportunities across a wide range of areas:

  • Many students proudly represented our school at Zone and Regional sporting events, showcasing their individual skills and abilities.
  • Senior students participated in the Western Sydney Careers Expo broadening their understanding of post-school pathways and future career possibilities.
  • During Reconciliation Week, students engaged in meaningful learning experiences to deepen their understanding of our shared history and culture.
  • Our Year 10 students benefited from the RYDA Road Safety Program, helping them become responsible and informed young drivers.
  • Students took part in innovative technology workshops, exploring AI, drone technologies, and humanoid robotics, preparing them for the jobs of tomorrow.
  • Our Police Youth Liaison officer presented on topics such as being a safe digital citizen, respectful relationships, safe partying. These were presented across the years to help protect and guide our students in making sensible choices.

Community Impact & Leadership

Kellyville High School is proud of its ongoing contributions to the broader community:

  • Through the Hills Relay for Life, our students raised over $12,000 for cancer research, and staff raised over $1,200 through the World’s Biggest Morning Tea.
  • Students and staff also supported the Blankets and Beanies Appeal and proudly marched in the Hills Against Violence – Walk for Change, standing up against domestic violence.
  • Our Under 15s Rugby team has had an outstanding season and is progressing to the City Cup Finals.
  • Students have continued to demonstrate strong leadership through their involvement in the Metropolitan North Student Leadership Forum and the prestigious Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
  • PASS and SLR students have built connections with local partner primary schools, supporting sports programs and student engagement.
  • Our school rock band, Purple Pigeons placed 3rd in the Battle of the Bands competition hosted by Castle Hill High School.

Recognising Excellence

This term, we held Year Group Recognition Assemblies, where many students were acknowledged for their commitment to the values of Learning, Excellence, and Integrity. These students have continued to progress through our merit system and represent the very best of what Kellyville High School stands for.

Media & Creative Arts Success

We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our school media team, whose short film recently won Flicker fest — an extraordinary accomplishment that has qualified the work for Oscar consideration. The students developed original scripts, designed props, filmed and edited their work, and collaborated with well-known actors from Australian TV and Netflix series.

Their success has attracted national attention, with the ABC and the Department of Education reaching out to collaborate on upcoming projects. Several students have been offered exciting media opportunities, including internships at Channel Nine, and a recently filmed music clip is scheduled to air on RAGE later this year.

This level of creative industry engagement is unprecedented in public education and is a testament to the hard work of Mr. Caprarelli, with the support of Ms. Vasilescu, Mr. Cheney, and our incredibly talented students.

P&C and Parent Involvement

Our school community continues to benefit from the passionate involvement of our P&C Association. Parents have generously given their time to support fundraising events such as Bunnings BBQs and at the recent Federal Election, all to raise funds that directly benefit our students.

In addition to their fundraising efforts, the P&C provides valuable input into school planning and decision-making. I encourage all families to consider attending our monthly P&C meetings and help guide our school’s future direction.

In closing, I would like to acknowledge the resilience, creativity, and community spirit that continues to define Kellyville High School. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together this term. I hope all students and staff enjoy a safe, restful, and well-deserved break, and I look forward to continuing our partnership in Term 3.

Warm regards,

Glenn Kayes
