Year 12 Dropping Courses

No further class changes are possible in Year 12; however, eligible students may still drop courses (please see either me or Ms Morrison to determine eligibility). The final date to do this is early Term 3. Students must withdraw from courses with practical components by Thursday 24 July; without practical components, the date is Monday 4 August.

This is a School Curriculum and Standards Authority date and cannot be extended. I wish all Year 11 and 12 students all the best for their holidays and look forward to them returning for what is always a very busy Term 3.

Year 12 WACE Exams (Term 4)

The Year 12 WACE Exam timetable is now available on the School Curriculum and Standards Authority website. Alternatively, enter 'WACE Exam Timetables 2025' into your preferred search engine, and the timetable site will appear immediately. These exams are now set and cannot be changed under any circumstances.

Sometimes, students have two exams on one day. This is just the way it is, and that is why we have a similar timetable during Years 11 and 12 so that students have experience in this. The school cannot change exam times, and the School Curriculum and Standards Authority won’t debate changing this timetable either.

Later in the year, students will be provided with a Personalised Exam Timetable, which they will need to bring to each of their WACE Exams. More information on this will be provided as we approach the exam dates.

Please remember that students must sit all exams if enrolled in an ATAR course. It doesn’t matter if they have only one ATAR course. You MUST sit the WACE exam. Failure to do this puts a student’s WACE achievement at serious risk.

Year 12 Revision Courses - July Holiday

Year 12 students are highly encouraged to review their current exam results and, if not where they need to be, enrol in the holiday workshops with Mastermind Australia at either Hale School or Christchurch Grammar. The tutors who provide our Masterclass sessions and after-school revision workshops are the same ones who run these intensive sessions. Please note that Applecross SHS students receive a 20% discount to attend these holiday sessions. Please refer to the detailed brochures in this update for further information. You may also contact Ms Jones to discuss whether these sessions will be worthwhile for your child based on where they are placed academically at this stage of Year 12.
