Piccinini Private Gallery visit

Art Making and Exhibiting Unit 2
As part of Unit 2, Outcome 1, students visited a number of Private Galleries in
the Flinders Lane area because they will have to come up with an exhibition of their own curation and theme. Students will select and analyse artwork, and look at art transportation, conservation and curation.
The tour started at Tolarno Gallery in Exhibition St, where students were lucky enough to be part of a talk by Patricia Piccinini. Here they were able to get an in-person insight into the world-famous artist in regard to her intent, creative process and her attention to preventative conservation and consideration for remedial conservation. As a continuation of the excursion students were also able to visit Arc One Gallery, where they saw the work of Nike Savvas, 45 Downstairs and Flinders Lane Gallery. Students were inspired for the upcoming unit and prepare appropriately for their written Outcome.
