From the Principal

As we wrap up Term 2, thank you to all students and staff who have contributed to a busy and vibrant term. It’s been great to see so many sharing their work and celebrating achievements across the school.

Our music students have been especially active, with ensemble camps and impressive performances at last week’s Mid-Year Concerts. It was a particular highlight to see our Year 7 beginners take the stage for the first time, along with strong participation in our choirs.

Students across all year levels have been completing assessments, with our Year 11s finishing their Unit 1 exams and Year 9 City School students presenting their research projects last week.

Teachers appreciated the opportunity to finalise reports on Feedback, Assessment and Reporting Day, which also supported our senior students sitting the GAT.

Our senior students also enjoyed a well-earned De-stress Day, with food trucks, music and activities. Thanks to the Senior Sub School and Captains for organising such a successful event.

Our Friends of Northcote Talkfest event last fortnight was a great success with those that attended enjoying the conversation. The money raised goes towards our Thrive fund. Through House Connect, students developed Shark Tank style proposals for school improvements, with funding decisions being finalised as I write this article. Students will be informed if their proposal was successful before the end of term, and we look forward to seeing the projects implemented over Semester 2.

Wishing all students, staff and families a safe and restful break.
