Prep News

Dear Families,
What a wonderful term it has been in Prep! It has been such a joy to witness the students continue to grow in confidence, develop new friendships and embrace every learning opportunity with enthusiasm and curiosity. We are so proud of all they have achieved throughout the term.
A big thank you to all the families who attended Parent Teacher Interviews. It is always a pleasure to connect with you and share the growth and progress of your child. Your ongoing support and partnership make such a difference in their learning journey.
Literacy
This term, we have been consolidating our knowledge of letters and sounds. The students have enjoyed practising how to spell, manipulate and blend sounds in words. We’ve also been celebrating the writing process, sharing our ideas and creativity with great enthusiasm. It’s been inspiring to see their confidence grow as budding writers!
Mathematics
In Maths, we have been revisiting and reinforcing key concepts through engaging games and hands-on activities. These games not only help solidify their understanding but also provide great opportunities for developing teamwork, cooperation and problem-solving skills.
PMP (Perceptual Motor Program)
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed participating in a PMP rotation recently! These activities support the development of students' coordination, balance, motor skills and ability to follow instructions. It’s been a fantastic way to build foundational movement skills in a fun, active and supportive environment.
Reptile Encounters
As part of our SWPBS reward, the students were treated to a special Reptile Encounter visit! It was a fantastic experience and the students loved getting up close to a variety of fascinating animals. They also had the opportunity to write a recount about their favourite animal, we were very impressed by their descriptive writing and enthusiasm.
Inquiry
We’ve continued to explore our Term 2 Inquiry topic, “In Our Community.” A special thank you to Timothy Keong (Claire’s dad), who visited our classroom to share his role in the community. The students were highly engaged and asked many thoughtful questions, it was a wonderful learning experience!
