Term 2 - Week 8

Mid year Reports and Three Way Conferences

The midyear student reports were realeased on Wednesday via Compass. They provided valuable insights for parents into your child's learning strengths and areas for further development. Three Way Conference bookings for August were also released. Please book via Compass.

Senior Athletics and Kelly Sports for Juniors

This week, we had an exciting lineup of sports activities, including Senior Athletics and Kelly Sports for our junior students. The senior students showed incredible determination and school spirit as they competed across various track and field events, cheering each other on and giving their best efforts. Thanks to Eryn Muir who orgnaised the event and to the parents who came to support on the day. 

Meanwhile, the juniors enjoyed a fun and energetic sessions with Auskick and Kelly Sports, where they developed their skills through engaging games and team activities.

Aussies of the Month

This Aussie of the Month embodies all of our school values consistently and with pride. They show a love of learning in the classroom by challenging themselves to try new things, asking questions and are self-motivated to develop their skills and knowledge in all areas of the curriculum. This student is a role model for others, displaying our school values and helping others: whether it is with a learning task or outside of the classroom. They always follow classroom expectations, showing others how to be a kind and dedicated learner. 

He is kind, considerate and helpful showing inclusion to others by asking them to join in games, work collaboratively on learning tasks and supporting those in need. He loves sports, often showing his skills or sharing his knowledge of basketball with his classmates. 

He demonstrates responsibility by completing his work to a high standard and keeping the classroom tidy and organised. MPRPS is very lucky to have such a wonderful student and person as a member of our school community. It is my pleasure to announce; this Aussie of the Month is Isaac from 3/4A.  

 

This Aussie of the Month consistently demonstrates a mature, dedicated, and enthusiastic approach to learning. They approach every task with diligence, and a strong desire to achieve their personal best. Constantly showcasing their strength of curiosity, this individual has demonstrated an exceptional ability to engage with new concepts and achieve excellence across all areas of the curriculum.

In addition to academic excellence, this student is known for their kindness, integrity, and respectful nature. They are a dependable classmate who treats others with empathy and leads by example through their actions and attitude.

As a member of the Discovery Centre, she has quickly established herself as a valued and inspiring part of Mount Pleasant Road Primary.

It is with great pride that we acknowledge and congratulate the outstanding efforts of Sienna in FT.

PJ Day for SRC

A big thank you to our SRC for organising a fantastic Pyjama Day to raise money for the Cancer Council. How lucky were we to come to school in our fun and comfy pyjamas while supporting such an important charity! The day was filled with smiles, laughter, and a strong sense of community spirit. We raised $327.30. Well done to everyone who participated and donated.

School Band Performance

At our final assembly on Monday, the school band delivered a spectacular performance that captivated the entire audience. Their set not only highlighted their impressive musical talent, but also showcased the dedication and hard work they have been putting in over the past term.

NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week is being celebrated from Sunday 6th to Sunday 13th July 2025, celebrating 50 years with the 2025 theme of 'The Next Generation: Strength, Vision &Legacy'. This theme is to recognise the achievements of the past while looking into the future empowered by the strength of the emerging leaders, visions of their communities and the legacy of their elders.

Congratulations Diosma

Congratulations to Diosma for winning the House Award for this term! In recognition of their outstanding achievement, the House Captains organised a special screening of the  movie Toy Story as a reward. This fun and exciting event was a fantastic way to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and team spirit shown by Diosma throughout the term.

Staffing news

Sarah Cullen has led our Performing Arts program with passion and dedication throughout Terms 1 and 2. From Term 3, Sarah will be returning to her role in Education Support here at MPRPS.

We want to sincerely thank Sarah for her outstanding contribution, especially her expertise and leadership in bringing Seussical the Musical to life. Her creativity, energy, and commitment have truly inspired our students and enriched our school community.

We wish Sarah all the best as she continues to support our students in her important role in Education support. 

We would also like to extend our thanks to Mackenzie, who has worked in Education Support this term. Her dedication, positivity, and strong work ethic have made a meaningful impact in her role as an ES. We truly appreciate all the effort she has put into supporting both students and staff, and we thank her for her valuable contribution this term. 

Next term we welcome a new Performing Arts teacher and Grade 3/4 teacher.
