SC1 Learning Snapshot
Another wonderful term has been had in SC1!. We would like to extend our appreciation to our families for your ongoing support. We have created a lot of fun memories this term. We feel very proud of what all of our students have achieved this semester and they certainly should feel proud also.
Thank you to all parents who have read and shared their child’s report with them and shared in their learning journey and development.
This last week we have been finishing up our non-fiction texts and we have learnt some fascinating facts about some sea animals. The students have enjoyed the extra time to create some drawings of some of the animals they are writing about.
In Maths, we have been identifying and continuing patterns in number and shape.
We hope you have a relaxing winter break, keep warm, and we look forward to seeing you all in Term 3.
Thank you,
Chelsea and Beth
SC2 Learning Snapshot
What an incredible term we have had in SC2! It is hard to believe we are almost half way through the year, however when we look back on the term, we have achieved so much. Thank you to all of our families who have provided us with so much support as always; we really do appreciate it.
Over the past week, we have been coming to a conclusion with our Chinese Dynasties unit in Reading, with the students have absolutely loved. In Maths, we have been learning about plotting coordinates on cartesian graphs, with all students positively taking on the challenge of learning a new skill. Our daily times-table work is also starting to pay off. We will have these mastered by the end of the year for sure!
Finally, we wish all families a safe and enjoyable holiday period and we look forward to seeing everyone back in Term 3.
Have a wonderful final week of Term 2,
Jarrod and Liz

If you were unable to book an interview and would still like to catch up, please contact us directly and we can organise an alternative time.
Scotsburn Assembly - Thursday 3 July
This Thursday we will hold our rescheduled end of term Scotsburn assembly, 3:00pm in the shed. It will be a big celebration of the term that has been, and we would love to see you there!
Whole School Assembly - Friday 4 July
This Friday we have our final whole school assembly for the term, starting the day at the Buninyong Campus. As is our usual routine, we will meet in the courtyard at 8:45am. If your child has any books to return to the library, please send them along as well. We will bus back to Scotsburn at recess, ready for an end of term 2:30pm finish at Scotsburn.
Casual Dress Day - Friday 4 July
This Friday we will finish the term with a casual dress day, which doubles as a fundraiser for an external beneficiary.
The VOTS Team at Buninyong has had the responsibility of selecting who the money will go to for this term,, and on this occasion have chosen the Royal Children’s Hospital. To support this fundraiser, children are invited to come along in free dress with a gold coin on Friday.
STEM Learning Snapshot
STEM Engineering Incursion
On Monday afternoon, our entire campus was lucky enough to participate in an engineering STEM workshop run by students from the University of Melbourne, titled “Engineering Without Borders - Safe Structures”.
Students worked in multi-aged teams to collaborate, plan and design a safe structure that would float on water, replicating conditions for people living on the rivers in Cambodia. Students learnt that during the wet seasons houses are surrounded by water and require canoes to move from one building to another. Whereas during the dry season the water level lowers and people are able to walk on the land. Students followed the design process to create a floating structure that could hold the most marbles. Students were only allowed to use certain materials within a specific budget, also including sustainable considerations.
Along the way, students learnt a lot about what it takes to become an engineer and the different types of engineers that there are in the world. Thanks Ms Middlin and Mr Smith for organising the experience for us!
Holiday animal care
It is that time of the term again where we are putting out the offer for anyone that would be interested and has the time to assist with Pip and our chickens over the holidays. Pip the Lizard would love a holiday at someone’s house, and she is extremely low maintenance! Our chickens will stay onsite, however just need a check for eggs, water and food every few days.
If your family is interested and willing to help with Pip, please come and see Jarrod in the next few days to make arrangements.
Below is a signup sheet for any families who can pop in to check on food and water for the chickens. The food is kept in the door on the right-hand side of the coop. Thanks in advance!
2026 Scotsburn Enrolments

Scotsburn Intercampus Travel At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day.
We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements. If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher. |
