EDUCATON in FAITH

Sacrament Of First Eucharist
On Saturday, 30th May, seven of our Grade 4 students received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion at St Joseph’s Church. This was a very special milestone in their faith journey as they received the Eucharist for the first time and joined more fully in the celebration of the Mass.
The Sacrament of First Holy Communion reminds us of Jesus’ love for us and the importance of coming together as a faith community. Through the Eucharist, we are nourished and strengthened to live as followers of Jesus in our words and actions.
In preparation for this special occasion, the students also participated in a Reflection Day, where they explored the meaning of the sacrament, the importance of sharing a meal, and how the Eucharist connects us with Jesus and one another.
We congratulate our First Holy Communion candidates: Lola Barker, Anastasia Cutrone, Jack Goldsmith, Jordan Hrycyszyn, Sam McGuire, Joseph Phiniefs and Sophie Sturrock.
The students participated beautifully throughout the celebration, and we are very proud of the reverence and joy they showed on this special occasion.
We continue to keep these students and their families in our prayers as they grow in their friendship with Jesus.
St Vincent de Paul Blanket Appeal
A big thank you to all of our families who have already supported our St Vincent de Paul Society Winter Warmth Blanket Appeal. This appeal, organised by our Student Representative Council, helps provide warmth and comfort to people experiencing homelessness or hardship during the cold winter months.
At our assembly on Thursday, 25th June, we will welcome Eileen from St Vincent de Paul, who will speak to our students about the importance of the blanket appeal and how these donations make a difference in the lives of those in need. She will also share a message of thanks with our school community.
A representative from St Vincent de Paul will be collecting the blankets on Friday, 26th June. If any families still have last-minute donations, please bring them in by Friday morning. As this is also the last day of school, this will be the final opportunity to contribute to the appeal.
The class that donates the most blankets will receive an icy pole treat on the last day of term as a special thank you for their generosity and support.
Thank you once again to our wonderful families for supporting this important cause. Your kindness will help bring warmth to many people in our community this winter.
From the SRC and Miss Lauren
