NORTHERN METROPOLITAN REGION TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
On Wednesday 15th October, 11 students proudly represented Greenhills at the Northern Metropolitan Region Track & Field Championships, held at Meadowglen International Athletics Stadium. This is the third — and one of the most challenging — levels of competition in the SSV Track & Field calendar.
Congratulations to our amazing athletes:
| Jayla B | 5ND |
| Charlie B | 5SM |
| Arlo C | 5ND |
| Ryan D | 6JH |
| Jackson H | 5ND |
| Tyra K | 5SM |
| Annabelle M | 6LB |
| Sophie M | 6JH |
| Grace P | 5SM |
| Emma T | 6JH |
| Chris W | 5ND |
Just qualifying for this level places them in the top 100 in Victoria for their age group and event — a fantastic achievement in itself! On the day, personal bests were broken and, incredibly, a Region Record was smashed by the Boys 11 Relay team too!
A special shout-out to Charlie, Arlo, Jackson, Sophie and Chris, who placed 1st or 2nd in their events and will now compete at the State Championships in the coming weeks — good luck!
COMMUNITY SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS
Awesome to see the next generation of Greenhills basketball stars hitting the court this Aussie Hoops season! Shoutout to Harper S (3MH), Leila C (3JC), Soren D (2TS), Phoenix W (PSB), Sonny S (PSB), Adam C (PSB), Ethan D (PSB), and Riley C (PSB).
Keep shooting for the stars and, most importantly, keep having fun! 💪🏼
|
Huge congratulations to Gemma M (5SM), who was awarded Best & Fairest for the Montmorency JFC U12 Girls White team!
Keep kicking goals, Gemma — a future AFLW star in the making! 💪🏼
Congratulations to Asher P (5RB) on her first ever full dressage competition!
Despite some nerves in the first round, Asher placed 6th (and scored a ribbon). In the second, more challenging test, she found her stride and claimed 2nd place! Her combined results saw her finish 4th overall — an incredible effort for her debut.
Well done, Asher! 💪🏼
If your child achieves something special (grand final win, most valuable player award, best and fairest etc.), please email me (jordan.daley@education.vic.gov.au) through photos and an overview of the achievement to post in Contact. It is important to celebrate and recognise such successes with the school community.
