What's happening in Boarding?

Weekend Recreational Activities

This week, seven of our students had an absolute blast at Flip Out! The trip was filled with energy, laughter, and some impressive trampoline skills. Before we even arrived bus singalongs had us all dancing. Then onto tackling obstacle courses and diving under and over the Wipe Out, everyone embraced the chance to let loose and enjoy some well-deserved fun. Some girls even achieved their first somersaults! It was a fantastic day and created lasting memories — and there were definitely a few tired legs by the end of it!

Boarders’ Outing – Bondi Junction Shopping & VR Experience

On Sunday, the Kambala Boarders enjoyed an exciting outing to Bondi Junction, where shopping and a Virtual Reality (VR) experience were the highlights of the day.

The adventure began at Bondi Junction Westfield, where the girls had time to browse, shop, and enjoy the buzz of one of Sydney’s most popular shopping centres. The girls all had their shopping lists ready to go for the afternoon with plenty of exciting purchases made.

The day continued with a VR experience that transported the girls into a virtual world filled with challenges and VR Arcade games. From single-player adventures to multiplayer arcade-style competitions, the girls laughed, cheered, and supported each other through the immersive challenges. The VR games not only tested reflexes and creativity but also strengthened their teamwork and connection.

The outing was filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of memorable moments. It was wonderful to see the girls enjoying themselves after what has been a busy term.

Term 4 has plenty of exciting and varied Rec outings to make the most of the summer weather. Wishing the girls, parents and staff a restful and rejuvenating holiday break!

Boarder Birthdays

Happy birthday to our boarding students  for their recent birthdays:

Victoria (Yr 9) for September 8th

Alicia (Yr 12) - A very special birthday congratulations for her 18th which was on the 14th

Saturday Sport

Holly’s basketball team secured a thrilling 28–21 victory in their latest game, earning a well-deserved spot in the finals next Saturday. It was an exciting match with strong teamwork, determination, and a great display of skill. Best of luck to the team as they prepare for the big game!

Meanwhile, it’s been a busy weekend for our Touch Football players, with numerous trials taking place across the region. The energy and commitment shown by the girls has been fantastic, and we’re looking forward to an action-packed summer season of sport.

Events

The Tivoli Dining Room was filled with warmth and heartfelt memories as the Year 12 boarders gathered for their Farewell Dinner. The evening started with a guard of honour on the Tivoli Lawn where the other boarders and invited teachers cheered the guests of honour. This special evening celebrated the journey and achievements of our senior boarders as they prepare to embark on their next chapter.

The Year 11 Boarding Prefects shared touching reflections on the positive impact the Year 12 girls have had on the entire house. Their words highlighted the leadership, kindness, and spirit these seniors brought to the community, inspiring and uplifting everyone around them.

The celebration continued with a video and slideshow showcasing moments from the Year 12s’ time in the boarding house. From everyday laughter to milestone events, the collection of photos and memories reminded all present of the strong bonds forged during their years together.

We thank the Year 12 boarders for their incredible contributions and look forward to seeing all that they accomplish beyond the boarding house walls.

Prep

Our Year 10 students are deep in preparation for their upcoming exam block. The boarding house has been a hive of focused activity as they revise human body systems for PDHPE, dive into poetry analysis for English, and apply themselves across a range of subjects. Their dedication and time management have been impressive, and we’re proud of the effort they are putting into their studies.

Year 9 has also been working diligently in the lead-up to their English exams, with a particular focus on the poetry of Carol Ann Duffy. Through thoughtful analysis and class discussions, they are developing a deeper appreciation for poetic techniques and themes.

It’s wonderful to see both year groups embracing the challenges of exam preparation with such determination and maturity.

Quote of the Week

Our school English department would be so proud when our girls are using phrases like “It's giving dystopian Maze runner” in everyday conversations!
