Abstract Art
Junior School (Prep-Grade 2):
To begin Term 4, students have been learning how to create marks in clay. They have explored using a rolling pin, collecting objects from nature for impressions and sharing available utensils and materials. Students have been exploring the clay making technique of pinch pots.
In addition to clay techniques, students have learned how to make self portraits - drawing their facial features, using oil pastels and taking their time.
Senior School (Grade 3/4-Grade 5/6):
Term 4 has begun, with a wonderful array of shapes, colours, textures, patterns, lines, detail and layers welcoming our Abstract Art unit.
Students got creative exploring these concepts and creating their own abstract collage using oil pastels, markers, paper, material, scissors and glue. They explored the concepts of colour and movement to develop their very own abstract pieces.
Students have been learning how to create and view Abstract Art. They have began using line, colour and form to create an art work for our upcoming Art Show. Students have been working hard to plan their design, take their time and explore different patterns. We are looking forward to seeing what students create!
