Principal Report

Dear families,

I hope the holidays offered you a chance to spend some quality time with your children. The year has gone extremely fast but has been very positive so far. Only one term left before the summer break.

While this term has lots of fun events and activities, we also begin to plan for 2026. A goal at the school over the last few years has been to improve transition processes for those students within the school. The processes for students coming into prep has always been strong, our work has been on boosting our efforts within school, as children move from teacher to teacher.

The last two weeks we have been asking parents and carers for information regarding class placements for 2026. This has come to an end today. We will begin to plan 2026 classes using this information.

Next week teachers will share a survey with you for you to answer about your child. This information will be passed to your 2026 teachers. Classes and teachers will not be shared until early December, just prior to the state-wide transition day on Tuesday 9th December. We will also be creating a time for parents/carers to share further information in person, or via a phone call with teachers once they are known.

Fundraising

I would like to say thank you to everyone so far for their efforts fundraising this year. We will start the process of talking to students about what the focus could be for 2026.

The colour run is fast approaching and will take place on Friday 7th November.

A big afternoon for our P&F committee as it takes 45 parent/carers to volunteer, as well as every staff member to supervise or join in to make this event stand out for our kids.

There will be a pre-paid sausage sizzle as well as the chance to slime a few of our staff members. We would love everyone to contribute something to the cause.

We know logging in online can be tricky.....another thing to do. We are sure friends, aunties, uncles and grandparents would love to support your child with their fundraising efforts if you are able to take the 2-3 minutes to create an account.

The P&F have created a short video to help.

The steps are outlined for what you need to do when you visit the website.

Following on from R U OK Day? October is Mental Health Month. The sun is coming out. The shorts are appearing. The winter gloom is disappearing. What a great month to focus on the happiness of you, and those around you. Here is a resource that was shared with me last week that you might find useful every month.

October is also Dyslexia month. Helen Plunkett has created a special page just for this. Please keep going through the newsletter to the page and read about some of the supports that are out there for all readers.

Thank you, and I wish all well for the weekend.
