Boarding

It was a pleasure to be part of the Year 12 Leaving Dinner on Monday night. One of the true highlights was hearing the genuine, thoughtful words shared about each of our Year 12 boarders. These reflections painted a powerful picture of the impact this group of young women has had on the boarding house community.

As each girl was acknowledged, a series of beautiful sentiments emerged descriptions that captured not only their personalities but the legacy they leave behind:

  • Genuine care
  • Leading by example
  • Treating people with respect
  • Bringing warmth and positivity
  • A sense of humour that is irreplaceable
  • Generous with her time
  • Fostering patience and kindness
  • Kindness of heart
  • Clumsy but effortlessly funny
  • Your hollering fills the halls with warmth
  • Finding the bright side in any situation
  • A big sister to many of us
  • It is difficult to imagine the boarding house without you

These words reflect the deep admiration and affection held for our Year 12s, not only for what they’ve done, but for who they are. They leave behind a legacy of connection, care, and character that has shaped the culture of our boarding house for the better.

As they prepare to step into the next stage of their journey, we celebrate all they have given and the indelible mark they leave behind.

They will be greatly missed.

Weekend Rec Activities

This week, seven of our students had an absolute blast at Flip Out! The trip was filled with energy, laughter, and some impressive trampoline skills. Before we even arrived, the bus singalongs had us all dancing. Then onto tackling obstacle courses and diving under and over the Wipe Out, everyone embraced the chance to let loose and enjoy some well-deserved fun. Some girls even achieved their first somersaults! It was a fantastic day and created lasting memories — and there were definitely a few tired legs by the end of it!

Boarders’ Outing – Bondi Junction Shopping & VR Experience

On Sunday, the Kambala Boarders enjoyed an exciting outing to Bondi Junction, where shopping and a Virtual Reality (VR) experience were the highlights of the day. The adventure began at Bondi Junction Westfield, where the girls had time to browse, shop, and enjoy the buzz of one of Sydney’s most popular shopping centres. The girls all had their shopping lists ready to go for the afternoon with plenty of exciting purchases made. The day continued with a VR experience that transported the girls into a virtual world filled with challenges and VR Arcade games. From single-player adventures to multiplayer arcade-style competitions, the girls laughed, cheered, and supported each other through the immersive challenges.

The VR games not only tested reflexes and creativity but also strengthened their teamwork and connection. The outing was filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of memorable moments. It was wonderful to see the girls enjoying themselves after what has been a busy term. Term 4 has plenty of exciting and varied Rec outings to make the most of the summer weather. Wishing the girls, parents and staff a restful and rejuvenating holiday break!
