Debating SA State Winners 🏆

Our Year 8 Team and Year 6 Team have both won their Grand Finals in the Debating SA Championships, held at Parliament House on 27 September 2025. 

Year 8 White (Mia, Cara, Diana & Liya, coached by Megan (Year 10) and Mr Rodda) Debated affirmatively on the topic: “Australia should implement an opt-out system for organ donation.”

Year 6 Quokkas (Zoe, Charis, Adesina, Grace & Tanisha, coached by Caroline Wicks and Mr Lee) Debated affirmatively on the topic: “Dreamworld should be allowed to expand.”

Both teams impressed the adjudicators with their compelling arguments, confident presentations, and clear structure, securing well-deserved victories! 

Over the season, each team competed in five preliminary rounds, advancing through semi-finals before taking out the Grand Final title.

We are so proud of all 14 of our Emmaus debating teams and every student who has committed themselves to the competition since Term 2
