Academic Badges were given to students who achieved high academic results—a GPA of 95% or above—and helped with lunchtime tutoring of other students. They also had outstanding results in debating, the geography competition, and the Gifted and Talented competitions.

Community Badges were given to those involved in LAP mentoring, Cornerstones bible study group, and the assembly sound technicians.

Sport Badges are for the winners of the Rijken Cup, Knockout Netball competitions and Netball Development Program.

Performing Arts Badges are for Musical and vocal groups, the Jazz ensemble, the stage band, the Generations in Jazz group, Tuesday on Flinders' group, and the winners at the ABODA Instrumental festival.

Well done, everyone! As we always say and believe, "Hard Work Pays Off!" 👏

The Rite Journey Camp ⛺

There are moments in life, rock-climbing, or the “Leap of Faith” at Mylor Adventure Park, when you have to commit. You’re unsure of the outcome, but the only way forward is to launch beyond your safe position, through the uncertainty and to hope you find something solid to hold you on the other side. Whether we seek them or they come seeking us, such risks and uncertainties are part of life. The year 9 Rite Journey Camp seeks to embrace this and give students a chance to walk through a number of challenges, risks and uncertainties together. What starts as a fear turns into furious planning and preparation, then gruelling hard work and endurance, discomfort, and finally sweet relief and triumph as it ends.

No one feels remarkably chipper after hiking the best part of a day with a large pack on their backs but it’s amazing to see what year 9s can do with some support and encouragement. The groups pull together and different strengths come out in response to different challenges over the week. I suppose it’s good for the year 9s to see that we teachers are just as exhausted as they are - probably more. Something profound happens as the moods of the group rise and fall with the exhaustion and the laughs and the sense of accomplishment.

I ended camp supremely proud of the year 9s for what they had accomplished:

  • Packing, carrying and cooking their own food for four days
  • Hiking or biking between locations 10-20 km apart
  • Sleeping alone in self-made shelters, spending 24 hours alone in nature.

I’m also so thankful to God for what the future holds for these young people as they embrace their lives' challenges, risks and uncertainties. It’s a privilege and honour for us teachers to spend time with them and see the work of God in their smiles, frowns, perseverance and occasional wobbles. God is doing a good thing in this generation and we got to see this with every well-stocked ruck sack, each encouraging word they spoke to each other and every “I can’t believe I made it!”

Well done year 9s and thanks to all the teachers and parents who made the camp possible!

Cake Stall in support of Generation in Jazz music students 2026

Gallery Image

The Music Department is arranging a cake stall as part of the Year 12 celebration week. The stall will be located at the oval during lunchtime on Thursday, 23 October.

It's a small fundraising event to support the cost of attending the Generations in Jazz Music Festival for our year 12 students next year, 2026.

Please encourage your children to buy cakes on the day. Parents are also encouraged to contribute. If you would like to participate in the fundraising cake stall and are willing to prepare cakes or any other baked items, please get in touch with Alison Miller amiller@emmauscc.sa.edu.au

Whenever you bake for the least of these ….

At Emmaus, we are not just about learning facts and figures or even skills for the sake of learning and knowledge. Recently, in Term 3, the Year 10 Food and Hospitality class has been learning and practising baking skills. They have also used this time to serve the Kingdom and show love to those in need.

A volunteer organisation, Kairos, runs Christian programs in prisons and with prisoners and their families. In September, our biscuits were given as an ‘agape’ or gifts of love to men participating in the Port Augusta prison. Homemade biscuits are something that can be taken in and given to inmates. They show that people on the outside are caring and thinking of them.

Please pray for this experience and that the men will get a glimpse of God’s love as Christians come together to speak and show them His Kingdom.

Year 7 Wellbeing Day🎠

In the final week of Term 3, our Year 7 students enjoyed a fantastic day at The Beachhouse in Glenelg. This special excursion was dedicated to student wellbeing, recognising the hard work, perseverance, and dedication shown throughout the term.

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to relax, have fun, and strengthen friendships outside of the classrooms. The laughter, games, and shared experiences made it a memorable day for both students and teachers.

Thank you to our teachers for organising such a rewarding and enjoyable day for our students!
