Principal's message

We have been very busy over the last two weeks with personal achievements and representation for students as well as our school calendar. We have welcomed our new Kindergarten students for 2026 and look forward to them meeting their buddies next week.
Police Youth Liaison Officer Stage 3 Talk
On Monday 27th October Stage 3 students engaged with our Police Youth Liaison Officer (PYLO) to discuss the social and legal impact of harassment. intimidation, assault and cyber-bullying. The students were highly attentive and posed questions to seek clarification throughout. Some were surprised with the consequences that can occur when police are involved for children as young at 10 years old.
As a school we consistently work with students through debrief and the Reflection process to build an understanding of how their behaviour choices impact others, and what they can do to make things right again.

Anti-racism in schools
Racism and racist behaviour are not tolerated in NSW public schools. Everyone in a NSW public school – learners, staff, parents, carers and community members – is expected to treat others fairly and with respect, and to behave in ways which do not promote racism in the school community.
If your child is experiencing racism at school, you should encourage them to report it to a teacher or the school’s Anti-Racism Contact Officer (ARCO), Mrs Zanetti, or you can report it on your child’s behalf.
How can the ARCO help?
The ARCO facilitates the handling of reports of racism by:
- providing advice on the process to students, staff and community members
- assisting the principal to manage reports of racism made by students against other students
- supporting the resolution of reports where students are the subject of the report
- providing impartial support to staff, students and community members who want to report racism
- supporting the person making the report of racism during the process
- providing advice related to the impact of racism to the principal and/or nominated staff member managing the report.
School attendance
It’s always wonderful to have our students in classrooms, ready to engage and learn. Our teachers and school staff are committed to fostering growth and opportunity, and we are here to work with you to support your child to reach their full potential.
Consistently going to school has countless benefits – from learning, to creating social connections and improving wellbeing through access to support and quality education.
Students are required to attend school every day, whether it’s the first or last day of the term, Mondays, Fridays or days dedicated to sports carnivals, school excursions and incursions.
As we look ahead to the remainder of the school year, I’d like to remind our school community that we are here to work with you to support your child to thrive. We know that families experience a variety of challenging circumstances, and we are committed to working with you to address any barriers to regular attendance.
If your child is absent from school, please let us know why as soon as possible, even if it’s just a few minutes at the start or end of the school day. Of course, there will be times when your child is unable to be at school, like when they are unwell. Medical appointments should take place outside school hours where possible, and family holidays should be taken in term breaks.
If your child is feeling anxious about coming to school and you need support, please reach out to your child’s teacher. There are also helpful resources for parents and carers on the NSW Department of Education website.
Thank you for being a part of our school community and for partnering with us to ensure students access the endless benefits of regular school attendance.
