Principal's Message

Kaileen Carr

Welcome back to Term 4. It is going to be a busy term. Please make sure you keep an eye on the calendar in our School Bytes app and in the newsletter.

Reminders:

  • All students are required to have a wide brimmed hat during playtime and for sport and physical education lessons. Students will be required to play under the COLA if they do not have a wide brimmed hat.

  • Pick up and Drop off - There were a few issues over in the park while I was away. Students are to come straight into the school grounds when they are dropped off to school or get off the bus. There is no teacher supervision in the park of a morning or afternoon. Please use the crossing in the morning and afternoons when you are picking up or dropping off your child/children. There are quite a few people crossing the road at the bus bay and this is extremely unsafe for our students.

  • Please do not park in the bus zone between 8:00am and 4:00pm. The police have been patrolling the area.

We have had a few issues with Social Media this week. Please make sure you are monitoring your child/children when they are using social media. The current requirement is that they are to be 13 years or over. As of December 10 2025, the age will be raised to 16 years to be on social media platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. When creating accounts, students are not to use the Eglinton Public School name in any form, the school logo, student names who they do not have permission from or any photos that they do not have permission to upload.

2026 planning is underway. Could you please inform the office via phone or email if your child will not be returning to Eglinton in 2026. If you know of anyone interested in enrolling who is moving into the area, please ask them to contact the office as soon as possible.

If you have any concerns for your child for 2026, please put them in writing and email them to eglinton-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au. These will be passed onto me, and I will take them into account when we are developing classes for 2026. Preferences are not guaranteed.
