Principal's Message

Ms Grace Carlo-Stella

Dear Parents and Carers,

Happy Easter. I hope this Easter season brings you joy, renewal and the blessings of the risen Christ. May we all strive to embody the spirit of resurrection in our lives, embracing hope, growth and transformation.

Thank you to Mrs Nancy Kupti for preparing and organising the beautiful and meaningful liturgies that the school community took part in during Holy Week and Easter. The coming together of the community to reflect and pray during the holiest season of the Catholic church serves as a reminder of the strength and unity that we find in our shared faith and values.

Before delving into the exciting updates and changes ahead, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude. Thank you for welcoming me warmly and making me feel like a valued part of this wonderful community. The first term has been filled with memorable events and valuable learning experiences and I am grateful to have shared these moments with you.

I want to share some exciting updates and changes happening within our school commencing term two..

One significant change you'll notice is the addition of a fourth teacher across all grades. This adjustment means that each class will benefit from the expertise and support of four dedicated educators for most of the week working closely with our students. Each grade will also have a teacher’s aide. This expanded team will enable us to provide even more personalised attention and assistance to meet the diverse needs of every child.

Furthermore, we are thrilled to announce that specialist teachers will take each class weekely for music, physical education (PE), and library lessons. While these engaging lessons are in session, our class teachers will be conducting assessments in reading, writing and maths, as well as participating in meetings to review individual student data. This focused approach will help us identify students who may require additional support or those who are ready for greater challenges, ensuring that every child receives the attention they need to thrive academically.

To accommodate these changes and maximise learning opportunities, recess and lunch periods will be combined. This adjustment will allow us to integrate music, PE, and library lessons seamlessly into the school day, providing students with a more enriching educational experience.

In addition to academic enhancements, we are excited to introduce new initiatives aimed at fostering a positive and inclusive school culture. Beginning next term, morning assemblies will feature prayer sessions led by different classes each week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Furthermore, we will be presenting weekly awards during Friday assemblies, where student leaders will announce the awards.

Moreover, I am pleased to share that we will be launching a comprehensive well-being program centred around the principles of positive education and character strengths. This initiative will involve active participation from families as we work together to promote the social, emotional, and psychological well-being of our students.

As we embark on these exciting changes and initiatives, we are committed to maintaining open communication and collaboration with you. Your support and involvement play a crucial role in the success of our school community, and we look forward to partnering with you on this journey of growth and excellence.

Next week the dates for term two will be sent to you so that you are able to place these in your calendar. A reminder that these dates can also be found on the Compass app’s calendar.

The last day for students will be Thursday 11 April as on Friday 12 April the staff will be updating their CPR and emergency first aid certificates as these need to be completed yearly.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.

Kind Regards,

Grace
