Principal's Message
Dear parents and carers,
Welcome to Term 2. What a busy start we have had: the Colour Fun Day, Year 3 swimming, multiple excursions and we have our upcoming Comedy Night in two weeks.
Thank you to all families who fundraised for the Colour Fun Run. We raised over $50,000 (with a portion going to the event organisers) which means we will be able to replace carpets in four classrooms in the main building in the upcoming holidays. Replacing carpets will be an ongoing focus for the school.
A professional learning focus for staff for the next 12 months is the implementation of the Berry Street Educational Model (BESM). We had our first session on the BESM on Monday 18th March.
"The BSEM equips schools with practical, classroom-based strategies to increase the engagement of all students, including those with complex learning needs.
The model enables schools to support students’ self-regulation, relationships and wellbeing to increase student engagement and significantly improve academic achievement."
More information on the BESM can be found here.
Foundation 2025 enrolments are currently open. If you have a sibling to enrol for Foundation 2025, please collect an enrolment form from the office or look for information in your Compass newsfeeds.
On the website we will be posting our draft Child Safe policies. If you have any feedback, please contact megan.smith@education.vic.gov.au.
This year we will be celebrating Clifton Hill Primary School's 150th year, with the school opening in April 1874. We will provide details of planned celebrations in the coming weeks.
Warm Regards
Megan
