Toddler Time

It was hard to believe that this was the second last week of term one but with Easter just around the corner it is definitely real.

The library chairs were full with very excited children, mums, dads and grandparents this week. It was great to see lots of children from previous weeks as well as 3 new additions to our Toddler Story Time family.  Our family is growing every week which is amazing.

This week we read an unusual story about a train driver who continued to find lots of different animals on different parts of his train.  The book was titled, ‘Mr Little’s Noisy Train.’ by Richard Fowler.

After our story everyone make a Name Train using lots of train carriages to spell their names.  It was wonderful to see many children writing their own names and putting their train together.  So clever.

Once again they all showed me just what wonderful dancers they were as we danced along to, Down at the station, before our prayer and ciao tutti.

First week of Term Two and holiday’s just over, in the library it was an incredible and very exciting time where we took the opportunity to celebrate Easter together in Toddler Story Time.

We began this week with an Easter egg hunt.  Hidden around the library were pictures of Easter eggs.  Everyone went hunting and when they found an egg they brought it to me to receive a little Easter treat to take home and enjoy.

The fun had only just started as everyone sat down to listen to the Easter story, ‘Easter Hat-astrophe’, by Rory H. Mather.

It was lovely to look around at everyone wearing a little bit of Easter this week. We had bunny ears and bunny faces as well as bright Easter T-shirts. This week we all made our very own Easter hat like in the story.  It was up to every child to decorate their hat the way they wished so we had some fabulous hats to wear as we danced along to the Easter freeze song in the library for everyone to see. There were many smiles on the faces of mums, dads and grandparents who came along this week which was great to see

What a great start to Term two.  Let the fun begin!

Hope to see you all again soon for a story, craft activity, singing and dancing.

Just a reminder that Toddler Story Time is held in the school library every Wednesday morning at 9.00 a.m. Come along.

Everyone is welcome
