Year 6 Camp

Have you ever felt sad but happy walking to your last activity for year 6 camp with all of your friends? Well I have and let me tell you all about it. As Me and my group walked to the last activity for year 6 we all just realised that this is our last year all together. As we finally got to Archery we sat down on These wet and dirty seats. The Instructor finally told us what to do with the bow and arrow. He said, “Who would like to be the first 4 to go up and have a go?’’I put up my hand, tall and straight, wanting to be in the first four. He picked 2 boys and he had to pick 2 girls and… I was the first girl to have a go.

I was so happy. When I got the bow I was thinking I'm not going to be great at this. How wrong I was!

I got the arrow and straight away put it onto the bow. I made my elbow straight and let it go. WHOOSH!!!!

Wow, I did so well I still can't believe it!

The Giant Swing

Camp Reflection

After hearing people's experiences on the Giant Swing, I was covered all in goosebumps. Even though I was nervous I thought Christian was the perfect partner to go on the swing with me. I told him we should go to the highest point but he was not keen on my idea. We didn’t go first because we thought we should watch someone do it first. Max P and Zain were first up and they were going to do 3 quarters up in the air. Then on their second go they were going to go maximum height. We watched them do their first go and thought that wasn’t too bad. But on the second go when Max and Zain went max height, Christian was not happy and said it was a big fat no. I could tell that he was worried so I told him everything was alright and there was no backing down. I could tell that what I said made him feel a little better because he replied saying yes I think we should do it. We were going 3rd in the line. Once we had our harnesses and helmets on, we could go out near the swing . Bella and Amelia were before us and we stopped them and got them all off the swing. They then helped us get on the swing for our turn. It was amazing!!!!

Camp Reflection

Have you ever been so high up it felt like you were on the top of a mountain? I was getting ready to do the leap of faith. I was getting my harness on with jitters shaking my hands. I could not stop looking up to the leap of faith because I was so high up. I was about to climb up the LEAP OF FAITH. I was climbing up a tall, straight pole, with little space to stand up on. Before I went, my friend had shown me how it was done and that gave me confidence.

Once I was up and ready to jump the instructor locked me in but pulled me off balance. I gave it my best try and almost hit the ball. I did not care because I couldn't reach the ball anyway. I made my way down and was glad I had had a go.

After trying the Leap of Faith, I learnt that I can do anything if I put my mind to it.
