Kitchen Garden

Inger Furlong, Kitchen Garden Teacher

It has been a fun and exciting first week back in Kitchen Garden.  The students have been busy planting cabbages, cauliflowers and peas. The wicking beds that were broken have been repaired and the chickens have received a lot of love and care. From the garden the students harvested radishes, mint, sage and saltbush to create:

  • Gnocchi with Sage and Brown Butter.
  • Radish with Honey, Mint and Lemon.
  • Saltbush Soda Bread.

You can find the recipes here to try at home. The Saltbush Soda Bread can easily be adapted by using any dried herbs instead of saltbush e.g. rosemary, parsley etc.
