A message from the Principal

Reflecting on a huge term

Each year every government school publishes an 'Annual Report to the School Community' - a comprehensive document that shares important data and information about the school over the previous 12 months. This is then shared with the school community and put onto our website as a celebration and sharing of the strengths,  successes (and areas for improvement) of our school.

This evening at our School Council meeting (6:30pm in the staffroom), we will be presenting our 2023 Annual Report to the community and invite all of our parents and carers along to share in this and reflect on what was a big year for the school.

The meeting will begin at 6:30pm and the first 30 minutes will be a presentation sharing key facts, figures and data which tell the story of 2023.

Following the presentation, we will move into our formal School Council meeting which will be the first meeting of our newly elected Council and will see the election of our School Council President, Vice-President and Treasurer. Like with all of our Council meetings and sub-committee meetings, these are open for visitors to attend.

Council will vote to ratify the Annual Report and, once approved in this way, we will share this with you in the next newsletter and on our website.

As this is the final newsletter of term 1, I would like to thank you all for your support and enthusiasm in getting this year off to such a great start. There have been so many highlights of the year already in the first 9 weeks - the incredible School Fete, Harmony Day, CAPSE, Jazz in the Park and School Camp to name a few. Such an active and positive school climate happens when we have families, staff and students working together and this is definitely the case at SKiPPS.

As a final request for the term, I ask you all to login to Seesaw over the holidays and look closely at the work samples uploaded by your child and their teachers. These videos, audio recordings, images and accompanying comments represent a detailed insight into their learning and goals during term 1. Their creation involves a lot of hard work and teachers really appreciate when we see that an upload has been viewed or, even better, that a comment is added that a parent enjoyed viewing a Seesaw post or found it useful.

A reminder that tomorrow is the final day of term - our athletics day and a 2:30pm finish.  I wish all of our families and students a restful school break and we will look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday 15th April.
