Welcome Back!

We hope that you all had a wonderful and restful Easter break. This term is full of many exciting activities such as swimming, hoop time and the beginning of electives. Electives will begin in week five and will run on a Friday afternoon in Session six. Electives are a wonderful way for students to take part in an activity of their interest and collaborate with new people.

This term, students have been given their timetable Ninja belts. These are a tool to assist the students to learn their times tables. It is expected that students practice their times tables every night at home. They will have the opportunity to get tested at school. The goal is to be able to recall multiplication facts quickly and without hesitation. Students should also be reading every night at home and recording it in their diaries. Diaries must be brought back to school every day as they contain information such as the students passwords. Diaries will be checked by your child's classroom teacher at the end of every week.

INQUIRY

This term in Inquiry, the students are learning about Law & Order. The students will learn about the three levels of government and what each level is responsible for. They will learn about elections and will create their own election campaign to present to the class. Lastly, students will learn about laws; who is responsible for making them and why it is important to follow laws.

SWIMMING

This week the students had their school swimming lessons. The students learnt lots of new skills such as swimming technique, diving and life saving skills. It was fantastic to see the growth of our students throughout the week, and amazing to see some students step out of their comfort zone and try new things.

ATHLETICS DAY

Our students had a fantastic day at 3-6 athletics trials. It was great to see each student having a go, and enjoying some friendly competition.
