Term 2 Reflection

As Term 2 drew to a close, our school community came together to celebrate, reflect, and recognise the many achievements and events of the past few months.

We ended the term with a festive spirit by celebrating Christmas in July! Staff and students embraced the fun by donning their best (and daggiest!) Christmas jumpers. The celebration continued with a much-loved Aussie tradition—a sausage sizzle—which also helped to raise funds for our Faith in Action donations to St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Fitzroy.

In the lead-up to the end-of-term celebrations, we also proudly recognised NAIDOC Week. Students and staff participated in a fun game of Marngrook, a traditional Indigenous game that inspired Australian Rules Football. At assembly, a student-led presentation shared the importance of NAIDOC Week and this year’s theme, encouraging us all to reflect on and honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our final assembly brought everyone together for a moment of reflection and celebration. Guest speakers spoke passionately about the value of learning additional languages, in recognition of Languages Week. The assembly ended with a video montage, capturing memorable highlights from across the term.

It was a perfect way to wrap up a challenging but rewarding term—filled with learning, laughter, and community spirit.
