As a part of our Pastoral Care and Health curriculum, our Middle School students were involved in a Wellbeing Day titled ‘Me, You, Us’ on Tuesday, 1st July. The day included a range of rich, age-appropriate learning opportunities facilitated by experienced teachers and external professionals to support the holistic development of our students.
Please enjoy some highlights from the day for our Middle School students.
Year 5
“I really liked the Pilates, colouring and Boost Juice”
“My highlight was that we were able to learn about our body parts, and my other highlight was the Together For Humanity.”
“The last session was amazing because we could understand what don't judge a book by its cover and also see the people’s interests.”
“My favourite workshop is the Pilates because it felt good to stretch and was fun.”
“It was great for our wellbeing and very enjoyable.”














Year 6:
“My favourite workshop was the digital safety advertisement as me and my friends got to have fun whilst getting work done and we had a great time.”
“Down ball competition. I found out how good Mr. Moore is, and I got to DESTROY the other teachers that were competing”
“The house activities on eSafety because we got to work as a team and it was really fun”
“I really liked that everyone was happy when they put the music on.”
“I liked Elephant Ed because it gives me more knowledge about my body and how it works.”

Year 7:
“Probably doing fun activities, like sketching out a whimsical design, exploring the outer part of our school, and talking to different people.”
“Having to spend the day with different teachers, building genuine connections in that small amount of time.”
“The highlight for me of me, you, us day was getting to learn how to self-regulate and calm myself down during stressful or hard times using breathing or mindfulness activities.”
“The black dog thing (Black Dog Institute Mental Health Fitness presentation) because it really came close to me because I sometimes struggle with mental health and it gave me ways to cope.”
“The one where we had to use our senses outside, i got to see, hear and (unfortunately) smell the birds!”
“The elephant ed workshop because it was inclusive and fun”
“The stress balls, we got to create our own things, and we got a sense of ownership by doing so.”
“One of my favourite workshops was writing what we were grateful for, because I were able to sit down and peacefully write/draw what I was grateful for.”
















Year 8
“The highlight was the seminar at the start by Paris, speaking about mental fitness.”
“Performing to everyone my instrument at lunch time.”
“My highlight of the Me, You, Us day was colouring the feathers. I found it fun, relaxing and enjoyable.”
“My highlight of my Me You Us day was colouring feathers for our class poster in period 5 and 6. I enjoyed the creativity aspect of the “Wings of Wellbeing task”.”
“My favourite workshop was elephant education as the information we learnt about was good to understand and the instructors were friendly.”
“The mental fitness seminar was my favourite, because I enjoyed a healthy discussion on mental fitness and mental health.”

Next week the College musical opens at the Bowery Theatre (just 10-15 minutes from Yirramboi). It is very exciting to note that over 30 of the cast and crew are in Year 7 and 8.
