Although it’s a shorter term, there are already a number of exciting events on the calendar. I hope all families had a wonderful extended break, enjoying the opportunity to rest and spend quality time together after a busy Term 2.

Over the holidays, new turf was laid in front of the Prep–2 building and will be ready for use in Term 4. In the meantime, students are continuing to enjoy other play areas while we allow the new grass to establish. The much-loved Down ball courts have also been freshly relined, which has been a big hit with our keen players. The Junior School is well prepared and enthusiastic for the term ahead.

As we begin Term 3, students have been engaged in conversations around behaviour and learning expectations. Revisiting routine, such as arriving on time, being prepared for the day, and taking pride in bookwork helps to ease the cognitive load and allows students to focus more deeply on their learning.

Students have also been revisiting their Class Essential Agreements and setting goals for Semester 2. This is a great time to remind families about our uniform expectations. We ask for your support in ensuring students wear the correct uniform. Please note that only small, plain ear studs or sleepers (without stones) are permitted. For further details, please refer to our Uniform Guidelines. Below are some of the most common uniform reminders we continue to reinforce.

Here are some key Junior School events happening in Term 3:

Swimming Program

Starting in Week 2, students in Years 1 to 4 will take part in our Swimming Program during their usual PE lessons. Please ensure all clothing and belongings are clearly labelled, including sports bags, jackets, jumpers, polo shirts, shorts, trackpants, towels, and underwear. Goggles, swim caps, and beanies are optional.

House Encore Event Winners

At our first Assembly in Week 2, we will be announcing the winners of our spectacular House Encore Event from the end of last term. We look forward to celebrating their achievements!

Book Week

In Week 4, students are invited to dress as a character from a book that connects with this year’s theme, “Book an Adventure.” The annual Book Parade will be held that morning, and families are warmly invited to come along and cheer on the students. Author visits will also take place to support the celebrations of Book Week.

Be Heard – House Pillar Focus

Later this term, students will attend House Meetings centred on the Pillar of Be Heard. This pillar highlights the importance of public speaking and sharing ideas. These sessions aim to boost students' confidence and communication skills. House Captains will lead fun, interactive games to help students practice speaking in a supportive and enjoyable way.

Footy Day

On the final day of Term 3, students can show their team spirit by wearing the colours of their favourite AFL team to celebrate the lead-up to the Grand Final.

Alongside these events, students will also take part in year-level celebrations and experiences. These include Prep’s 100 Days of SchoolYear 4’s Genius Hour Exhibition and a variety of incursions and excursions that extend learning beyond the classroom.

To stay informed, we encourage all families to read Making Connections each week. It contains important dates, year-level updates, learning focus summaries, and suggestions for supporting learning at home.

We are looking forward to an engaging and memorable Term 3 filled with learning, growth, and celebration. Thank you for your ongoing support, we’re excited for what lies ahead this term.
