All ex, current students and staff are welcome to join us at the school for our celebrations.
Later the same evening, the 155 Years of Boorowa Central School organising committee will be hosting a gala evening at the Boorowa ex-services club. Please RSVP and pay at the Boorowa Central School office by 29 August.
New Staff
Mrs Meg Batt
Mrs Batt has joined the school for 2 days a week for the remainder of the school year.
Mrs Batt has been employed to provide release to classroom teachers for new curriculum planning and Respectful Relationship Education program organisation.
A little background from Mrs Batt
‘While completing my teaching degree, I gained over eight years of experience working as a School Learning Support Officer (SLSO) across various schools in Victoria, New South Wales, and the ACT. After graduating, I began casual teaching in the Jervis Bay area on the NSW South Coast. In 2024, I was fortunate to secure a full-time teaching position at Vincentia Public School, where I taught my first Kindergarten class. In 2025, my family and I returned home to Boorowa, where I continue to pursue my teaching career with passion and dedication’.
Miss Lilly Porch
Miss Porch is joining us from Blayney High School and will be filling the PDHPE maternity position (Mrs Cosgrove’s position). Miss Porch is PDPHE trained and has 2 years’ experience teaching PDHPE at Blayney High and Canobolas Rural Technology High School. Additionally, she also currently teaches in a special education classroom and completes tasks to support the Learning and Support Teacher.
Miss Porch says:
‘Boorowa Central School strongly appeals to me due to its core values of excellence through respect, responsibility, and participation as well as its strong sporting presence. I am a strong advocate for physical health and preventative education and am currently the co-coach of a League Tag team in the Woodbridge Cup’.
Miss Porch will start at Boorowa Central in Week 5 – Monday 18 August 2025. This will lead to some minor changes to secondary timetables to accommodate this.
Both new teachers are excellent additions to our school and will be active and visible members of our community. Please make them feel welcome.
Parent Teacher interviews
K-12 Parent / Teacher Interviews were held last week for both K-6 families and 7-12 families. K-6 parents met with their child(ren)’s teacher in their classrooms in 20 minute slots to discuss the progress they have made in the first semester of 2025. Interviews were positive and collaborative as both parties want the best for the children.
7-11 interviews were held in the Hall in 5 minute slots. Despite the cold, many parents attended so that they could discuss the semester 1 reports and gain further insight into how parents, teachers and students can work together toward higher learning outcomes.
7-12 Parent / Teacher interviews are scheduled in 5 minute slots so that parents have the time to see all of their children’s teachers, which can be as many as 10. However, we are finding it difficult to stick to the timeframe for a variety of factors.
Have your say:
We are looking at slightly adjusting the format of 7-12 Parent / Teacher interviews and we would appreciate your feedback. Please click on the link below to answer 2 short questions.

Grandfriends Day
Thank you to all of our Grandparents, families and special friends who came to Boorowa Central School on Tuesday. These visits are exciting for our primary students and an opportunity to share their school with their special people. I hope you enjoyed the classroom visits, book character parade, Book Fair and the lunch that was prepared and cooked by our Year 11 Hospitality students.
