Welcome!

A message from the Principal

St Peter’s Feast Day Mass & Baptism

On the last day of Term 2, Friday, 4th July, we celebrated our St Peter’s Feast Day Mass. The celebration began with a beautiful Welcome to Country, performed by students Nikiri and Andre, using the didgeridoo and clapping sticks. We were then treated to a special Mass led by Fr. Junray, who brought artefacts to illustrate the remarkable life of St. Peter and the inspiration we can draw from his example.

During the Mass, one of our own students, Paitynn, was Baptised, making this a truly special occasion. The students were bussed to St. Kilian’s Church for the Mass and then returned to school afterwards. It was wonderful to see several families join us back at school for a morning tea to continue the celebration.

Passion & Pathways Senior Unit Community Dinner

On Thursday, 3rd July, our Year 5/6 students hosted a Community Dinner as part of their Passions and Pathways projects. The event featured two sittings for families, offering the choice to dine in or take home a frozen meal the following day. The students worked hard to prepare the dinner, and it was supported by generous contributions from local organisations, including Bendigo Foodshare, St Vinnies, IGA Long Gully, Golden Square Woolworths, and Meat Matters Eaglehawk. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to these businesses for their support and encourage everyone to shop locally and show your appreciation.

A big thank you also goes out to all the families who attended the event. Many were asking for recipes, as the food was simply delicious! The evening was a great success, with over 60 people in attendance. The 5/6 students did a fantastic job hosting and cooking, and it was a wonderful opportunity to showcase their hard work and dedication.

Reports for last Semester

At the end of last semester, in the final week of school, we sent out the student reports electronically via PAM. This change allows for a more efficient and environmentally friendly way to share reports with families.

Instructions on how to access the reports were also sent home, so please revisit them if you are yet to read your child’s report(s). If you have any questions or need assistance accessing the reports, feel free to contact the school.

We look forward to sharing the progress and achievements of our students with you!

2024 Annual Report for School Community

We are pleased to inform our community that the 2024 Annual Report is now available. This comprehensive report provides an overview of the school’s achievements, financial performance, and key initiatives over the past year.

The Annual Report can be found on our school website for easy access. We encourage all families to review the report and reflect on the progress we’ve made together as a school community.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the report further, please feel free to contact the school.

FIRE Carrier Commissioning Ceremony

On Monday 28th July we will hold a FIRE carrier commissioning ceremony at 9am. Our community is also invited for bacon and egg rolls from 8:30am. More details to come later this week!

A Moment in Prayer

Loving God,

As we begin this new term, we thank You for the opportunities ahead.

Bless our students, staff, and families as we journey through Term 3.

Guide us in our learning and growth, help us to work together with kindness, and fill our hearts with hope and joy.

May we continue to learn from each other, support each other, and live with compassion.  We ask this in Your name.

Amen.

God Bless,

Jeremy Darmody
