School Wide Teaching and Learning

In each edition of our school newsletter, we share with our community an insight into the curriculum being taught within our classrooms. This reflects our school's strong focus upon continuous improvement. 

 

Each edition covers a different area of the curriculum, and is supported by our school-wide approaches to teaching and learning. 

 

We have just completed our final session of this round of electives. It was great to see the students following their passions and learning some new skills. This round, students were involved in:

  • Kids in the Kinder

  • Lego Challenge

  • Drawing Club

  • Sports

  • Art and Craft

  • Minecraft Education

  • Coding

  • Aerobics

  • Board Games and Card games

  • Comic Books and Story Making

  • Passion Project

We are now in the process of gathering ideas from students for our Term Four electives. Keep an eye out over the next few weeks for further information on the new electives.

 

ICAS assessments are now in full swing. Last week, students completed the Digital Technologies and Writing assessments. Well done on completing these tests diligently and to the best of your ability.

 

This week students will be completing the English assessment. A reminder that following each assessment, results will be available on the ICAS portal using the log in details you used to sign up your child/children. Results are generally available two weeks after the test has been completed.

ENGLISH - Monday 11th August 9am

SCIENCE - Monday 18th August 9am

SPELLING BEE - Friday 22nd August 9am

MATHEMATICS - Tuesday 26th August 9am

 

If your child we will be absent for one of their purchased tests, please let me know so an alternate time can be organised to complete the assessment. Please note however that the make up date must be within the same week that the test is set.
