Mrs Dominica Bearman
Dear St Joseph's Parents and Carers,
A warm welcome back to all our students and families as we kick off Term 3! I hope you all had a restful break. It's wonderful to see our school community re-energised despite the cold weather and ready for another productive term.
This term offers several important opportunities for us to connect and collaborate on your child's learning journey. We'll be holding our 3 Way Conferences to review Semester 1 reports, providing a valuable chance for you to discuss your child's progress with their teachers. For our K-6 families, these conferences will take place in Week 3,
If your child is finding school difficult in any way the best thing you can do is speak to the teachers or myself. We, like you, want only the best for every student. Positive communication is key to this. No question or comment is ever not important to us. I urge any families who have any concerns about anything at school to come and see me. Let’s work together to help your child be the best version of themselves possible.
In Term 1 of this year, students across Australia in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 completed NAPLAN assessments in the four domains of Writing, Reading, Conventions of Language and Numeracy. The results of NAPLAN 2025 have been released to parents today.
Parents receive an Individual Student Report (ISR) which identifies the student’s achievement in each of the four domains compared to school and state averages and against standard proficiency levels. An Additional Student Report (ASR) is also provided, which offers further details about specific areas where the student demonstrated their performance.
Please take the time to read these reports with your child. If you have any concerns or would like further clarification, please schedule a time to see or discuss this with your child's teacher.
