Book Week 2025

A reminder that next week is Book Week and we have an exciting week of celebrations planned!

Monday August 18th  we will be running a ‘Cosy Corner’, which is an opportunity for children across departments to get together and share a book and have a hot chocolate.  See Compass notification sent yesterday for specific details.

Thursday August 21st is the Indigenous Literacy Foundation Book Swap. Children are invited to bring along a gold coin donation to purchase a pre-loved book. The funds raised will be used to supply educational resources to remote communities across the country. We continue to seek donations of children’s books, from now until the 20th of August. We kindly ask that books are in good, pre-loved condition, free from rips, tears or scribble. A book donation drop point has been set up at our school office. Thank you to those who have already made donations, it is greatly appreciated.

Friday August 22nd is our Book Week Dress Up Day and parade, commencing at 9:15am. Students are invited to dress as their favourite book character. We are looking forward to seeing many wonderful characters and costumes on display!

Premier’s Reading Challenge Update

With three weeks remaining before the challenge finishes, we are getting to the pointy end. We are trying really hard to beat our record from last year, and every book counts. So far, students in our school have read over 1400 books and 38 students have completed the challenge. Get involved and log your books online!

A reminder that when you log into the PRC portal and add your books, don’t forget to press the “finish” button. This allows me to verify the book has been read, so that it counts towards your total. There are a number of books that have been added, but not “finished”. Unfortunately I am unable to verify books that have not been marked as “finished”, and these will not count towards your child’s total. You are able to easily amend this though the portal.

Asthma / Allergy / Anaphylaxis Action Plans

If you indicated on your child’s enrolment form that they experience asthma, allergic reaction or anaphylaxis, or they have been diagnosed since then, government legislation requires you to provide us with a current Action Plan (see examples below).  Please visit your medical practitioner for an up to date Action Plan and send along to the office.

Please ensure your child has their medication and any other device (eg. spacer) with them to better manage their symptoms.  If your medical practitioner has informed you that your child has grown out of their condition, they will need to provide a letter, on the Medical Practice letterhead, to the school stating such.

Thank you for your cooperation.
