Wellbeing: Safety Week

🌟 Safety Week: Staying Safe Together 🌟
This week, our school community came together to celebrate Safety Week, focusing on the many ways we can all contribute to a safe, supportive environment—both online and offline. This special week aligns with our school’s STAR value of Staying Safe, encouraging students to make safe choices and look out for themselves and others.
Throughout the week, students explored the theme of physical safety—learning how to move safely around school, follow playground expectations, and respond calmly in different situations. From classroom discussions to role-playing real-life scenarios, students practiced how to keep themselves and their peers safe.
Cyber safety was another important focus, with age-appropriate activities that taught students how to protect their personal information, use respectful language online, and speak up when something doesn’t feel right.
We also emphasised wellbeing, reminding students that staying safe includes looking after their emotional health. Classes engaged in mindfulness activities, talked about recognising feelings, and explored ways to seek help from trusted adults.
We encourage all families to continue these conversations at home—asking questions, listening actively, and reinforcing the messages students have learned throughout the week.
