Captain's Corner

School Captains
Hello, welcome to the first week of Term 3! We hope you enjoyed the holidays.
We have started the term by learning all the different ways to stay safe in Safety Week. We have learnt about being safe online and not clicking on random websites that pop up on games, and if a link pops up, you need to show an adult. We have also learnt about figuring out when we need to ask for help, how to ask for help and what to do if someone asks us for help.
We also have our school food drive starting today. We are collecting non-perishable food to give to the Malvern Emergency Food Program, which will then put the food into packs which will be stored at the Malvern and Phrahan police stations. They will give it to people they meet who are vulnerable and in need. These packs will last almost a week, and give them some help.
There will be a prize for the class that can make the longest line with their donations. It will finish in week 6, and the class with the longest line will be announced at assembly. Please check Dojo and the newsletter for more information about what items are needed.
We have also been doing great work in Performing Arts, leading up to the production. Everyone has been so amazing at acting, dancing, and singing and putting in an enormous effort to remember everything. We couldn’t have done it without Mrs D'Arco. She has been so incredible with leading the production.
Well done to all the star award winners this week.
Enjoy the weekend!

Sports Captains
There is a lot to be excited about this Term with sport! We are looking forward to these upcoming events.
We are very excited for the Dendy Athletics because we all get a great chance to compete against other schools. It’s always fun to challenge ourselves against other competitors!
We also have Rugby Gala Day! This is a really fun day where we will go and learn how to play tag rugby and then compete in some games against other schools at Caulfield Park. It is so much fun, in past years there has even been a lunchtime disco, full of dancing.
At the end of Term 3, we also have Footy Colours Day, which is a day full of fun with footy activities, with our sports captains helping out, making sure that everyone is having fun. We will be fundraising on that day too.

Art Captains
This term, we are looking forward to our production, Beauty And The Beast!
Many of our costumes have arrived, and the leads have had their photos taken for the book. Our first whole school rehearsal is next week, and everyone is super excited! We look forward to seeing you all supporting your kids on the night, and we are very thankful for all the parents who helped with costumes and props!

STEM Captains
This term, we are looking forward to the STEM lessons that we’re going to do, as last semester’s lessons were amazing. I am excited for what we are going to learn this term and all of the fun things that we will do.
Last term, we were very privileged to get the 3D printer from De La Salle. We scraped the tip of the iceberg about how to use the 3D printer. Now that it is a new term, we are really excited to start using it more often by doing projects all over the term.
