Values Statement

Through courage & work we include, empower, create and achieve.

Instructional Model

An Instructional Model in a school outlines the systematic approach to teaching and learning, guiding educators in planning, delivering, and assessing instruction. At MGSC, our instructional model is aligned with the Victorian Teaching & Learning Framework and the five Es (Engage, Explain, Explore, Elaborate, Evaluate), providing a structured framework for lesson planning and curriculum delivery. It also references the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) standards, ensuring that teaching practices meet national benchmarks for quality education.

Additionally, our model incorporates High Impact Teaching Strategies, which are evidence-based techniques proven to enhance student learning outcomes and engagement in the classroom. Through this comprehensive approach, we aim to deliver high-quality education that empowers students to thrive academically and beyond.

Strategic Intent

We recognise the importance in promoting and celebrating:

  • Diversity, Understanding, Respect and Compassion
  • School Pride and Student Wellbeing
  • The Development of the Whole Person
  • Student Leadership, Agency and Voice
  • Collaboration and Teamwork
  • Striving for Personal Best
  • Problem-based Learning and Challenging Thinking
  • Engaging with Emerging Technologies

The school is committed to offering a comprehensive curriculum based on the Victorian Curriculum F-10 and the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) including the Vocational Major.
