Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart Community

Prayer

Welcome back to Term Two. I hope you were able to have a break over the school holidays and enjoy some quality relaxing family time. As are all school terms, this one promises to be an exciting one with much learning for our students. As in the prayer displayed above, we continue to think of the victims from what seems to becoming an increase in violent incidents across our community. We pray that Sacred Heart School community can be a beacon of peace.

Welcome Ava and Ali

On your behalf, I would like to welcome our new Year Five student Ali and his sister Ava in Year Foundation. We are so happy that these two great young people have joined us. In four short days, they have already left a great impression on their teachers and class mates.

Winter Uniform

With the varied weather this week and next, I am happy for parents to choose what they think is the best uniform for the comfort of our students. I would ask however that as of Tuesday April 30th (for school photos), that our students if not already, commence wearing their winter uniform.

School Photos

A reminder that school photos take place on Tuesday 30th April. Please see Cristina's section of the newsletter for further information.

Interschool Sport

Our winter interschool sport program commences this Friday. Our Year Five and Six students are involved representing our school in both soccer and netball against neighbouring primary schools. With an emphasis on participation, this program is always really enjoyed by our senior students.

Parents and Friend's News

Mother's Day Stall

Our traditional Mother's Day Stall will be held on Friday 10th of May. Our magnificent Parents and Friend's group are looking for parents to help on the day of the stall (ie 9am till 11am) and with helping to wrap the gifts in the days leading up to the stall. The "wrapping" mornings are Tuesday 7th May and Thursday 9th May.

Further information about the stall will be provided as we get closer to Friday 10th May.

After School/Before School Protocols

As indicated in previous newsletters, I would like to reinforce an after school protocol that ensures are students are safely supervised. I ask that only those students who are accompanied by their parents and carers move out into the playground and over to the adventure playground. I see this opportunity for parents to socialise as an important part of community. Please be aware however that you are responsible for the safety of your children.

Students who are awaiting their parents are not to move out into the yard beyond the multi purpose room. At the moment some students awaiting their parents are playing in the yard beyond the multi purpose room and are therefore not supervised.

Of a morning only our Foundation students are allowed on the adventure playground. I am happy to supervise them and this again gives our new parents the opportunity to catch up for a chat.

Container Deposit Scheme (CDS)

A reminder that we continue to collect the relevant recyclable containers for the CDS Victoria to help our environment and earn some money for our school.

Yours Sincerely

Mark
