Reconciliation Assembly - Monday 20 May
Thank you to all of the family and community members that attended our school's Reconciliation Assembly on Monday 20 May.
Special thanks to Felix and our team of student guitarists who performed the reconciliation song Blackfella/Whitefella by Warumpi Band (lyrics video).
We also thank Mark Lumley from the Murnong First Peoples Gathering Place who shared a smoking ceremony on the oval and local elder, Merilyn (Aunty Merm) Duff was a student as shared aspects of her culture and favourite favourite song for reconciliation.
Special thanks are also extended to Dr Monique Ryan for attending what was a wonderful and important event for our school.
Lastly, thanks and congratulations to Ms Emily Hui and the The 'Always was, Always will be' Student Action Team for hosting and helping to organise this important event.
ACCESSIBILITY & INCLUSION WORKS HAVE COMMENCED
The school has been working closely with the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) in identifying all of our non-compliant accessible ramps and access points across our campus and campaigning for their removal and reconstruction.
We're excited to announce that we have secured just under ½ million dollars of government funding for the works which are scheduled to begin in March.
At Auburn South we are very passionate in creating accessible & inclusive places, programs and infrastructure for our all of our students, staff and community members. This is very exciting news!
Hawthorn Magic now at Auburn South!
