Principal's Message

Bonjour

I would like to open my message this week by acknowledging and thanking Zeb Brierley for the contributions she has made to our school.

Zeb commenced working as a counsellor at St Laurence O'Toole Primary school some 10 years ago and during her time with us, Zeb has worked with children in Grades 3-6 on developing their social and emotional wellbeing, teaching them how to connect, grow and feel joy.

Zeb has become a friend to many in our community and has often times been a sounding board during both times of joy and challenge.  Her kindness, candid nature and wisdom has been appreciated and her honesty, although sometimes blunt, is held in high regard.

Today marks the end of Zeb's time with St Laurence O'Toole Primary School.  On behalf of our students, families and school community I wish you Godspeed Zeb, may the next part of your journey be full of "peace, love and understanding."

We have been experiencing some magnificent weather of late but as we edge closer to the winter months I would like to encourage you bring in some positive daily rituals to combat the grey days ahead.  Spending quality time with friends and family, at school and in the community, continuing to exercise and starting each day with a healthy and nutritious breakfast are just a few suggestions that might keep you motivated and engaged - after all there is nothing like a brisk walk by the ocean on a cool day to invigorate your senses!

We have had some very excited children today, purchasing gifts for the special people in their lives.  The conversations, the smiles and the thrill of choosing a gift was priceless and I hope that your children share this experience with you whilst keeping their gifts a secret until Sunday.

Our M(other)'s Breakfast has been organised by our Parents and Friends Committee for Monday, 20 May 2024 at 7:30 am.  Breakfast is open to everyone and I can't wait to indulge in some delicious pastries and granola yoghurt with you, celebrating and appreciating the love, care, and sacrifices of mothers and mother figures in our lives.  Please see the M(other)'s Day Breakfast tab for further details.

Just a quick reminder that Monday is a student free day.  Our teaching staff and administration team will be engaged in Whole School Plan and spending time preparing for our upcoming School Review.

Bonne fête des mères

Liz
