5/6 News
A big warm Welcome Back to Term 2 from the 5/6 team and also a warm welcome to Mrs. Pridham who has spent the week getting to know her class and settled in well.
This week the 5/6 teachers spent Wednesday planning for the remainder of the term, it is sure to be another action packed term for our student, with lots of sports activities on the agenda and an action packed learning schedule.
With ANZAC day approaching, this weeks writing has been focused on stepping into the shoes of a soldier, a parent of a soldier, a nurse or doctor, etc. Students have been asked to write a letter from the point of view from their chosen person and send it home to someone of choice. Students have been working hard to choose emotive and descriptive words within their writing and also using their senses to describe how they are feeling.
Today, Mick Thompson came to school to talk about his time in the Army and share some knowledge about some of the soldiers who fought for our country. This talk was very engaging and sparked great excitement with the student's writing. Mick left us some letters from a soldier that the students had learned about during the session which we were able to share with our students.
