Dear Parents,

Welcome back to Term 2. I hope everyone had a great break and had the opportunity to relax and recharge. The staff were very eager to welcome the children back on Tuesday. We have also had a number of new children commence at Bathurst Public School. I know you will join me in welcoming these new families to our school community.

Thank you to the many children, Mrs Cafe and Mrs Goninan who attended the Bathurst RSL Sub Branch Community ANZAC Day Service representing Bathurst Public School in the holidays. You all looked amazing and were wonderful representatives of our school. Thank you to our parents for your ongoing support.

We have had four children selected to be part of the Serious Fun band program hosted by Bathurst High Campus. The children attended their first rehearsal on Wednesday. Congratulations to Tate Solomon, Nikki Allan,  Mia Walker and Adeline Hunter on their selection and participation in this program.

Well done to our School Netball Team and Miss Reedy who played against Kelso PS in Round 1 of the NSW PSSA Knockout Competition yesterday. The team won 27-0 which is an outstanding result. Well done to the team and Miss Reedy.

Congratulations to our Girls Touch Football Team and Mrs White who played Bathurst South PS in Round 1 of the NSW PSSA Knockout Competition today. Unfortunately we lost a very hotly contested game 3-2  in the final minutes. We were so proud of our team and thank our parents and friends for their support. Thank you to Mrs White for coaching the team this year.

Next Friday, 10th May we will hold our school Mother's Day celebrations. The P&C will hold the annual Mother's Day breakfast commencing at 7.30am in the top quad area of the school. Order forms were sent home on Tuesday or are attached to this Newsletter. Order forms should be completed and returned to the school office with payment in cash or made to the P&C account (listed on the note).

Later in the day, the children will also have the opportunity to attend the Mother's Day stall. A note regarding donations was also sent home on Tuesday and is attached to this Newsletter. We are still seeking donations of gifts for the Mother's Day stall. Mother's Day donations can be made at the front office. Children are encouraged to bring $5.00 so they can attend the stall and purchase a Mother's Day gift.

Please note - children attending the District Cross Country will have the opportunity to attend the Mother's Day staff on Thursday 9th May.
