ART FOR ALL
We Need Coordinators!
ART FOR ALL is our annual Art themed fundraising event that runs the whole weekend from the 6 – 8 September and this year marks our 27th anniversary. It’s unique in the way that it supports local artists and makers, it draws our extended families, friends and local community and there’s something for ALL... ART FOR ALL!
Every year we do things a little differently as times change and so does our school community. This year we are renaming Sunday (8th) to Party Day, or PARTY FOR ALL Day… do you like it?
We are looking for coordinators to manage sections of our event. Some sections run throughout the whole weekend, others are just on Sunday (Sunday – Party Day – is for kids). Volunteering is a great way to meet new friends and contribute and challenge yourself.
Right now we are looking to fill coordinator spots (big jobs) to make the event a success. Later on in the year we will release Signup Genius hours (small jobs), so watch this space.
Absolutely no experience necessary, you don’t need to be arty, just bring your energy and excitement!
Communications coordinator x 1
Write for internal (FPS newsletters, class liaisons, etc.) with a bit of external comms too. All the effort required for this position runs between now and just before the event. This is a supported position with access to past resources to make it easy. You enjoy being playful with words. Can be done mostly from home. To get to know the event and all the moving parts, there’s monthly 1 hour meetings during evenings to attend.
Volunteer coordinator x 1
Set up a Signup Genius for spots for parents to volunteer their time over the weekend. Bulk of the work required here is during some weeks of early July and will be done from your computer at home. Meet the rest of the ART FOR ALL coordinators in monthly meetings that run for 1 hour.
Inventory coordinator x 1
Mostly very busy on Thursday evening/night and Sunday afternoon, and job sharing with two existing coordinators over the weekend. This is a good fit if you have a particular fondness of spreadsheets and the like. Can be done mostly from home. To get to know the event and all the moving parts, there’s monthly 1 hour meetings during evenings to attend.
Community art project coordinator x 1 or 2
A fun activity that makes ART FOR ALL year after year so unique. Come up with an artistically themed public art concept/activity with a budget. Roll out on Sunday with signed-up volunteers. You’re a creative ideas person and/or enjoy working with others to achieve something big. To get to know the event and all the moving parts, there’s some 30min meetings during evenings to attend.
Sunday Food coordinator x 1
Manage BBQ’s, stock and external food suppliers/food trucks. Majority of the work is the weeks prior and then on the Sunday. To get to know the event and all the moving parts, there’s some 30min meetings during evenings to attend.
Gallery Shop Coordinators x 3
Every year this is quite successful. We are looking to do it a bit differently that is less labour intensive. The Gallery Shop is open all three days of the event. Source and liaise with suppliers, visual merchandise, manage volunteers and the shop over the weekend. Can be done mostly from home, and to get to know the event and all the moving parts, there’s monthly 1 hour meetings during evenings to attend.
Sponsorship Coordinator x 1
Seek and liaise with sponsors for both monetary (mostly existing) and in-kind donations. Send out thank you’s post event. Can be done mostly from home. To get to know the event and all the moving parts, there’s monthly 1 hour meetings during evenings to attend.
Sustainability Coordinator x 1
Manage the event’s zero waste goal. Problem solve sourcing for other coordinators. Consolidate waste streams, set up waste stations and set up Signup Genius volunteers for the Sunday. Can be done mostly from home. To get to know the event and all the moving parts. there’s monthly 1 hour meetings during evenings to attend.
ArtZone Coordinators x 1 or 2
We have one coordinator but we need at least two more. ArtZone is always a great success – the kids love it. Come up with workshop ideas for primary school ages, design a timetable, set up volunteers with art supplies. This year we are looking to simplify ArtZone and engage with more volunteers. To get to know the event and all the moving parts, there’s some 30min meetings during evenings to attend (this could also be arranged during day time too).
Children’s Gallery x 1
Every student has their artwork displayed in the gym building over the ART FOR ALL weekend. Be guided by Marjie (there’s already a system for displaying). Set up Thursday with some volunteers and packdown in the days post-event.
Saturday/Sunday Café x 2
Alongside the Gallery is a café that is open during the day of Saturday and Sunday for four hours. Serve tea and coffee, cakes and pastries. You’re managing the café with signed-up volunteers. To get to know the event and all the moving parts there’s some 30min meetings during evenings to attend so you are familiar with how it works.
