Japanese

Kaori Bawden

It has been a while since we have had some news from the Japanese class! We all are doing Ninja Unit to learn some rules, direction words, and tools that Ninja used.

In Grades 5 and 6, we have started to revise some Hiragana words, and numbers in Kanji and practice some Hiragana more this term to build up our vocabularies. We are using useful classroom phrases as much as possible in the lesson however I feel that it is not quite enough. This term, senior students are learning about new and old Japanese buildings and housing.

The number of earthquakes in Japan accounts for 10 % of all earthquakes in the world.  Students learned some fun facts about Skytree, the tallest building in Japan. New buildings adapting the earthquake-engineering measurement. We are going to learn about the differences in housing and gardens between Japan and Australia.

Have a wonderful weekend
