National Boarding Week

We are celebrating National Boarding Week from Sunday 12 to Saturday 18 May 2024.

This year’s theme is centred around Field Days. We are using Boarding Week  2024 to show our community what you would see at a traditional Field Day. There will be machinery to sit in and look at from AFGRI and McIntosh and Sons. The Darcy Effect will have a stand as well as food and coffee areas all run by the boarding students. It’s a whole school event. 

GSG Field Day - Wednesday 15 May 2024 - Week Five 

Wednesday 15 May is our GSG Field Day – the school is dressing as outback/country and bringing in gold coin donations for charity, The Darcy Effect. 

This is what is on offer:

• John Deere machinery (tractors) 
• McIntosh and Sons Machinery (more tractors) 
• The Darcy Effect stand (students to support Kate Mitchell) 
• Coffee stand from Cert IV GSG students (Mrs Teresa McAllister)  
• Lamb on the spit

Regional Visits

The Principal, Mr Mathew Irving has just completed his third regional visit to Lake King with Head of Boarding, Mr Ashley Keatch and Head of Endeavour House, Mrs Nyree Mackenzie.  Held at the Lake King Golf Club, the visit was well attended by families past, present and future and from all reports it was a very worthwhile event.

The next visit is scheduled in Mount Barker/Kendenup on Friday 7 June.  This event is open to all current, future and interested families.  If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Julia Bairstow by Monday 3 June.

The road show will continue through the year with the following events scheduled.

• Denmark on Friday 26 July
• Newdegate Field Day in September
• Esperance Show in October
• Albany Show in November

We encourage all families to attend these events if you can and help us spread the word to friends and family in these regions.
