Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge 2024

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge (VPRC) has begun for 2024. EPS has always been a proud participant in the VPRC and will continue to be so in 2024.

What is the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge?

The Challenge encourages students to read a set number of books over the year and record their efforts online. Since the Challenge began in 2005, more than 4.3 million students have read over 60 million books.

The Challenge helps students experience ‘challenge’ books and ‘choice’ books. Children from Prep to Year 2 are encouraged to read or ‘experience’ at least 30 books with their parents and teachers. Children from Year 3 to Year 10 are challenged to read at least 15 books.

All children who meet the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier and former Premiers.

Your teacher has your student’s VPRC username and password — please request it if you don’t already have it.

How do I log in to the VPRC challenge application??

  1. Go to https://vprc.eduweb.vic.gov.au
  2. Select the School/Student button.
  3. Select the VPRC login option.
  4. Enter your username and password.
  5. Select Login.

Where can I find books?

You can read books from home, your local library, and of course, our fabulous EPS library!

What about eBooks and audiobooks?

We encourage students to experience literature in all forms! You can access our online titles at https://elsternwickps.eplatform.co/ using your child’s student ID (next to your child’s name in Compass) to login and password book1).
