Introducing our new staff!

We are thrilled to introduce you to some of our new staff! We look forward to profiling more of our new team members in future editions!

Morgan Andrew - Science and HPE Teacher

My name is Morgan Andrew and my position at Clayfield College is a Science and HPE Teacher. I have a background in Exercise and Sports Science, having obtained my Bachelor Degree in Exercise and Sports Science in 2018. I have experienced country living and all that rural Australia has to offer working on cattle stations in Northern Queensland.

On the holidays I enjoy spending time at the beach with my family and friends. I also enjoy hiking mountains, camping and playing sport (hockey, soccer, and touch specifically). I have two beautiful, energetic border collies who I adore very much.

I would say a secret talent of mine is that I can name all of the Australian Prime Ministers from Federation in 1901.

I have been a part of the Clayfield College community since 2022 as a Boarding House Tutor and Supervisor and am excited to continue at Clayfield for my teaching career. I was attracted to Clayfield College ever since I began my Masters Degree in Secondary Education. I had nothing but positive experiences with the students in the public and soon acquired a job in the Boarding House in late 2022. I chose teaching as I have a keen interest in educating our future generation. I first found my love for teaching when I started coaching sport in my teenage years.

I am most looking forward to meeting my students and immersing myself in everything that Clayfield College has to offer.

Louise Bromley - Careers Counsellor

My name is Louise Bromley and I am starting as the Careers Counsellor here at Clayfield College, on a part-time basis. I have worked in secondary education and tertiary education as well as corporate HR as a Careers Counsellor and Learning and Development Specialist. I have also worked in infrastructure and engineering, radio and freelance journalism, marcomms and startup hubs. Previously, I have worked for ABC Radio producing stories about the Granite Belt and Brisbane. Since leaving radio, I have hosted three podcasts; a careers podcast for a university, a podcast about the former Apple Blossom and Apple Harvest Festival Queens of Stanthorpe, and a podcast about the real life locations in Brisbane featured in Bluey.

I was drawn to Clayfield College as I had previously worked with Mr Brett Steeples, Head of Academic Pathways and Performance, and am looking forward to working with him again. I love working with teens and their families to make career decisions for life after Year 12.

I chose this path as I am a helper and a storyteller. With Career Counselling, I was able to combine my arts/history and psychology studies at University. I am an avid reader, love board games and am very passionate about the Granite Belt region of South East Queensland where we have a small farm.

I am most excited about meeting students and families to explore career opportunities and pathways.

Sally Wake - Year 2 Teacher

My name is Sally Wake and I am very excited to be teaching Year 2 at Clayfield College. I have previously worked at Clayfield and have loved being part of the special community that the school offers. The students, staff and families are always welcoming and supportive and it is a privilege to work here.

I grew up in Clayfield and attended Clayfield College for my secondary schooling. I feel fortunate to have countless happy memories from these days and to have formed lifelong friendships. After completing a Bachelor of Education in the late 1990s, I taught in the United Kingdom for five years, then in Melbourne for five years. I have now been teaching for over 27 years which makes me feel incredibly old!

My family and I live locally but spend any spare time at our farm in Northern NSW. I love spending time outdoors and can lose hours in our ever-expanding vegetable garden.

I am very much looking forward to teaching at Clayfield and having a role in the school at such an exciting time in the school’s growth.
