Dear Families,
We hope this message finds you in great spirits as we gear up for an exciting school year ahead! Welcome back to St John's for the 2024 school year—a year full of possibilities, growth, and success. Whether you are a returning student or joining our school for the first time, we extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you. Our dedicated staff are thrilled to embark on this educational journey with you, and we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all our students. Together, we will create an atmosphere where every student can thrive and reach their full potential. Our doors are alway open please come and talk to us if you have any concerns.
It was lovely to see so many parents, grandparents and past students in the school this morning, there was a happy buzz in the air. We welcome the Harper family back to our school this year with Cooper in Year 5, Billy in Year 3 and Alby starting in Foundation. We hope that you enjoy being back after being away having a fabulous time exploring Australia.
Mrs Stewart is on leave for the term and we hope she is enjoying her time overseas and thinking of us during her travels.
Welcome to new staff
We are thrilled to welcome Lisa Lister, Grace Ivill and Keira Bodycoat as Learning Support Officers in the classrooms. We are looking forward to working alongside them.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
Parent/teacher interviews will be held this Thursday 3.40-5.50pm, and Friday 11.40am -1.20pm and 2.00-3.20pm
Please book your interview time through PAM.
Interviews can be held either in person or you can book a time for your child's teacher to ring you. These interviews and learning conversations are a very important part of your child's education and we strongly encourage all parents to make a book
Lunch Orders
There will be no lunch orders tomorrow. Lunch orders will begin on Wednesday 7th February.
School holiday works
A massive thank you to our Maintenance extra-ordinaire Keith who managed and supervised works over the holidays. The works completed were installation of cupboards and shelves in various areas of the school, part replacement of roof on the Anderson St building, supporting Mick Hamill and his team in servicing the air conditioners, re-modelling an area of Mrs Frewen's classroom and the tedious task of cleaning up storm damage
Storm damage
Over the holidays the school suffered from storm damage, we lost a number of beautiful shade trees in our yard and the surface of our tennis courts was damaged. We are currently working with Catholic Education Sandhurst and Catholic Church Insurance to repair or replace the tennis courts surface. Whilst we are waiting (hoping and praying!) for a successful outcome, the courts will be out of bounds for students to play on. However, students will still be able to enter and exit the school grounds through the tennis courts. Students will now be able to play on the oval before school instead of the courts.
