Dear St Kevin’s Families,
A warm welcome to all the St Kevin’s families, both current and new, to the 2024 school year. We welcome our 13 new Preps who began their primary schooling last week and 2 other families whose children are in Year 2 and Year 4. Thank you for choosing our wonderful school and trusting us to partner in educating your children.
We have much to be proud of and celebrate a St Kevin’s school and we are always seeking to improve and give the very best to the students.
We also welcome new staff to our school: Mrs Bianca Di Giovanni 1DS teacher and Literacy Leader, Miss Gladys Sim 1DS, 1GS and Visual Arts Teacher, Mrs Leeanne O’Meara Performing Arts Teacher and Mr. Louis Verscio Physical Education Teacher for Term 1 while Mr Peter Scarfo is on leave.
School Day commence at 8:50am
The school day commences at 8:50am. All students need to be in class ready to commence morning activities such as ‘Welcome Circle and Prayer’ at 8:50am. Students can be dropped off after 8:40am and they walk to class and unpack preparing for the day. The teachers have reported that the students are arriving late to class. This is disruptive and unsettling for students. Every minute counts and we want the best for the students.
Parents and carers can you please make a special effort to have the students at school a little earlier so the days preceding can begin calmly and on time.
The Staff have worked at developing a St Kevin’s School Theme and now we need the students and families to complete the following short survey. Vote for a 2024 School Theme by clicking on the Link - Vote for a St Kevin’s School Theme 2024 The Theme will be shared in the full newsletter next week.
Opening School Mass
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the ‘Opening School Mass’. It was a beautiful mass and we are looking forward to a productive 2024.
