Attendance Expectations
I’d like to take a moment to remind our school community of our school’s attendance expectations. Rochester Secondary College has a strong tradition of regular attendance. I remind parents and guardians that children need to be at school every day unless genuinely ill.
It’s not okay to be away - Please contact the relevant year level coordinator if you need support with school refusal.
There is an expectation that all parents/guardians vigorously support the college attendance policy and actively discourage children from staying home unnecessarily.
Going to school every day is the most important part of your child’s education. Students learn new things at school every day – missing school puts them behind. Being at school every day makes a huge difference to student learning, social and emotional health and well-being.
If your child is sick or absent, you are required to notify the school as soon as possible on the day of absence either via Xuno or by calling the school.
Thanks Matt
