Happy Goa Carnaval!

Our happiest wishes to our DPS families from Goa who celebrated Carnaval in the 10th of February. In the words of King Momo, we hope you - Kha, piye aani majja kar ( "Eat, drink and make merry").

What is Carnaval?

Carnaval is celebrated in the state of Goa in India. It is a 500 year old tradition and comes from its Portuguese and Spanish roots.

The highlight of Carnaval is the parade, which winds through the streets of major Goan towns and cities across the state. The parade features a variety of floats, dancers, and musicians, all dressed in elaborate costumes. The procession is led by King Momo, a mythical figure who is said to be the king of Carnaval.
