Principal's Report
Dear families,
It has certainly been a busy week as we welcome back all our returning students and eagerly greet our new students. I am pleased and relieved that we have a full staffing cohort, as the teacher shortage is a very real concern for some schools.
On 1 February we also celebrated the Feast Day of St Brigid and we were blessed to be joined at our assembly by Sr Jacinta Rice, who is the only Sister of St Brigid still residing in Horsham. We also welcomed our new Deputy Principal, Mrs Fiona Friberg. I am very confident in the knowledge that Fiona brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our College. We also welcomed Mrs Linda Murray and Ms Melanie Bennett onto our staff.
Our building works are well passed the planning stage and we hope to be under construction in Term 2 after the tender process is finalised this month.
Term 1 is always a busy one and this year we only have nine weeks before Easter. I know there will be a number of opportunities to meet parents and carers over this short term and I encourage you to come and begin a conversation with me or to make contact with the school at any time to discuss the important matter of your child’s education and wellbeing.
At the assembly this week, I challenged the students to ‘live life in all of its fullness’ (John 10:10) and I very much look forward to everyone participating fully in the life of our College throughout 2024.
Kind regards,
Gerard Raven
